On March 11, the project Rapid Detection and Intelligent Early Warning Prevention and Control Key Technologies for Dynamic Disaster Zones in Deep Coal Mines proposed by Shendong Coal was honored with the First Prize at the 5th Safety Science and Technology Award by the China Association of Work Safety (CAWS).
Different from traditional theories on dynamic disaster prevention and control, the project creatively proposed the concept of “unified initiation with differentiated prevention and control” for coal mine dynamic disasters, establishing a holistic system encompassing initiation theories, monitoring systems, early warning models, and control technologies for the rapid detection and intelligent early warning of dynamic disaster zones in deep coal mines, providing a practical technical route for dynamic disaster prevention and control in China’s deep coal mining sector. The project’s achievements have been successfully applied at the Bu’ertai Coal Mine, where they have monitored and warned the precursory information of rock burst during retreat mining processes.
As the sole national safety science and technology award approved by the National Office for Science & Technology Awards (NOSTA) in the field of work safety, this award cites enterprises, organizations and individuals making notable contributions to basic research, technological invention, research and conversion of scientific and technological achievements, and technological innovation & application, representing the highest accolade in the field of work safety in China.
