Recently, the village-level poverty alleviation program of photovoltaic power station in Hanggin Banner, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region successfully connected to the grid at full capacity, marking the official implementation of the Xirimorengacha Village photovoltaic poverty alleviation program, as well as Zhunneng Group’s solid steps in supporting rural revitalization.
The successful implementation of this program is the result of collaborative efforts. In January 2024, the Notice on Implementing Photovoltaic Poverty Alleviation Program across Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was jointly issued by the Energy Bureau and Department of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Following this directive, Wang Dangzhi, the first secretary dispatched by Zhunneng Group to Xirimorengacha Village, led a resident work team to actively seek policy support and coordinate resources to facilitate the program’s implementation. As the targeted supporting unit for Xirimorengacha Village, Zhunneng Group donated RMB 2.95 million to help the village to become a shareholder in the program, not only securing the funding but also setting a positive example for corporate engagement in rural revitalization.
With a total investment of RMB 23 million and a construction capacity of 5.79 megawatts, the program is situated in a dairy cattle and beef cattle breeding farm under Xini Township’s Animal Husbandry-Photovoltaic Complementary Project for rural revitalization, and is implemented by the Ordos Modern Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Investment Group Co., Ltd. With Xirimorengacha Village owning 12.8% of the investment, the program is expected to yield an annual average return rate of no less than 8%, estimated to generate an annual income of more than RMB 230,000 to the village’s collective economy for 25 consecutive years. The combination of green new energy and poverty alleviation program will also provide job opportunities for residents to enhance the income of farmers and poverty-alleviated households, further consolidating the gains in poverty alleviation.
In the future, Zhunneng Group will continue to support Xirimorengacha Village in exploring the “photovoltaic+industry” development model, and promote diversified development, including the animal husbandry-photovoltaic complementary project and agriculture-photovoltaic complementary project, thus injecting more vitality into rural revitalization.
